Hosting sale (resale) is one of the many forms of providing web hosting services in which an intermediary (reseller) buys services in bulk from the owner by hosting, and then sells them to its customers for personal profit.
Usually the reseller takes a VPS with a control panel or a hosting “Reseller” and places on it the sites of its clients for an additional fee from them.
A typical hosting reseller may be a design firm, a developer who will offer web hosting as an ancillary service. Resale hosting is also a budget way for entrepreneurs to start a business.
Hosting companies encourage resellers and provide a lot of different reseller pricing plans, which allow intermediaries to implement their own pricing plans and choose what pricing policy to follow. Most often, resellers can even establish their own brand, use their web hosting panels and servers.
Such an approach can be seen as a relationship between a wholesaler and a retailer. The web hosting company acts as a wholesaler and leases space to resellers who are retailers. In this case, the reseller does not need to organize the technical side of the hosting, the work of the support service, and much more, and he has time to fully concentrate on what he does best – website development, etc.
